An introduction

This has been bugging me for some time.

Restaurants provide a startling wide assortment of drinking straws.

First you have the presentation: Individually-wrapped, straw dispenser, cup of straws, etc.

Then you have the diameter: For example, I've noticed McDonald's has large diameter straw holes. Boston Market has tiny straw holes. I'm also curious if this is a marketing decision: to keep customers from drinking large quantities of soda in one sitting, or perhaps to keep them chugging so fast they will satiate an appetite that may not be remedied by fast food? I guess we'll learn together.

And then you have variables such as color, printed sleeve and yes, the all-time favorite bendable straw -- also known as the "bendy straw."

I just did some quick online research to see if anyone has ever documented drinking straw diameters at fast food restaurants.

I didn't find a go-to resource, so I've created this blog to catalog my findings. I know you're as excited as I am.
